The Salvages | JESUS LOGO Oversized HOODIE
Items inspired by The Jesus and Mary Chain
One piece from the "The Choice of The Last Generation" collection is a T-shirt with a "JESUS" logo as conceptualized and produced by Earn Chen, founder of The Salvages.
It was inspired by the Pepsi homage "JESUS" logo shirts worn by Douglas Hart of The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Earn showed his sample to the designer Barnzley, and he showed it Douglas and Bobby (Gillespie). They liked it, and that's what led to this collection.
It all started with a T-shirt sold at a Christian goods shop
When Earn asked Douglas where the T-shirt had originally come from, he said it had been sold at a Christian goods store.
The Jesus and Mary Chain style typically involves cutting the hem of the shirt and wearing it loose without tucking it into the pants.
Douglas and Barnzley did this with a "DOUGLAS" shirt.
Douglas explained that he got an over-sized second-hand shirt, dyed it black, and cut off the hem to make it shorter.
This time, shirts are inspired by Barnzley and Douglas in an attempt to recreate the style of the shirts that they wore at that time.
